Instructional Experiences

  • ESL117
    • ESL117 acted as the flagship experience for the LILI practicum students. Each student was tasked with leading a two-session instruction for ESL117. We were given a rough script to follow but still were able to craft the session to fit our style.

  • CommA Instruction Sessions
    • I was tasked with participating and observing fifteen instruction sessions for various courses that fulfilled the Comm-A requirement at UW-Madison, including but not limited to English 100 and ESL118.

  • Bio 152 - Endnote
    • I was responsible for teaching students the uses and benefits of a citation manager (the example I used was Endnote) during a battery of Bio152 Sessions. For four separate classes, I instructed the use of the service and answered questions / did troubleshooting for the class.

  • Assessment Videos
    • I have crafted three short instructional videos for Steenbock Memorial Library staff to help them with their instruction sessions' assessment techniques. More information is available here.

  • MERIT Library Infodesk
    • During my time working as a reference librarian at the MERIT Library Infodesk, on the few occasions where I got a reference question I would tend to not so much do the searches for the patron, rather I would give them an intensive crash-course on how to effectively use the Library materials to find resources.
